Our Mission
To support the healthy social, cognitive, emotional and physical development of children 0 to 6 years and their families.
Purpose
Since 1976, Creating Together EarlyON Child and Family Centre has supported children 0 to 6 years and their families in Parkdale.
Today, Creating Together serves an average of 535 families with 558 children per month. This is higher than pre-pandemic levels when in 2019, 479 families with 496 children were served monthly.
The year 2022 marks 46 years that Creating Together has provided high quality early years learning programs that promote positive parent and caregiver interactions with their children ages 0 to 6. Programs provide an early foundation through play-based learning with a focus on language; literacy; Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM); nutrition; nature; health; fine and gross motor skills; and social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Families can connect with one another and community-based services.
About Creating Together EarlyON Child and Family Centre
Creating Together’s services are designed to welcome children from 0 to 6 years and their families and caregivers in a safe, educational and nurturing environment, where families can meet, interact, have fun and learn from each other. Our programs provide much-needed support for our diverse population which includes families facing isolation, living in poverty, newcomer families and/or at-risk families. The centre is open from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm and two Saturdays every month.
Programs and services include:
Workshops and educational sessions on Nutrition and Healthy Food Choices, Autism, Cancer Prevention, Flu Season, Toileting, Behavior Guidance, and more
Various community and cultural celebrations and potlucks like Black History Month; Family Day; Pride Month, National Indigenous History Month; International Women’s Day; Mother’s and Father’s Days; annual anniversary; St. Patrick’s Day; Literacy Day; annual summer picnic; Canada’s Day; Chinese and Celebrate Tibet New Years; Diwali; Eid Ul Fitr; Thanksgiving; Easter; and Christmas
Early years literacy, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), music, play-based nature, and movement and physical activity programs
